VALE Garry Clode
Garry Clode, a Life Member of TRC, passed away at Mannum on Saturday the 29th October 2022.
Garry was a crew member of our winning 1958, 59, 60 Champion Senior VIII & of the 1959, 1960 King’s Cup crews. He was one of the last surviving members of an SA Kings Cup crew who raced the Australian Interstate Men’s eights race held as a 3 mile event.
Gary was a Boathouse Captain 1959-60, a Committee member (1959-60). He went to Sydney & rowed for Mosman before going to sea as an Engineering Officer in the Merchant Navy for many years.
After returning to SA, he became a long term patron (1988-2003) of Torrens Rowing Club. A stalwart at TRC, he was always doing odd jobs around the club.
