Learn to row
Torrens Rowing Club runs both Senior and Junior Learn to Row programs throughout the year.
Senior Learn to Row
This popular program is run over four sessions on Sunday mornings from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm.
No previous experience is necessary. On-water training is conducted on the Torrens Lake, just north of Adelaide’s CBD.
The minimum age for these courses is 18 years and the cost is $160, which includes a TRC cap.
Participants need to be able to swim 50 metres in light clothing (for example, rowing kit)
and be sufficiently at ease in the water not to panic. They should also be able to
tread water for a minimum of three minutes.
Applications for the February 2026 Senior Learn to Row course are now closed.
The next course will be held in April/May and details will be announced soon.
These courses are extremely popular, so we encourage you to get in early.

The class of September 2025
After completing the Senior Learn to Row program, participants have the option to continue with the club
with a three-month
provisional membership.
After the provisional period, full membership can follow, with a range of squad training sessions
available for those who wish to compete and those who enjoy rowing for fitness and recreation.
The Learn to Row courses are designed for adult learners and provide a relaxed, professional and friendly
environment.
Junior Learn to Row
Our program for younger people (14–18 years) is currently under review.
